Learn how to get the most out of Dinarko.

This week's basket index — what groceries cost at each chain

Getting started

Dinarko turns your receipts and bank statements into a clear picture of your spending. Then it tells you where the same things cost less.

  • Your money, itemised. Import a statement or scan a fiscal receipt, and every transaction and line item gets sorted into categories for you.
  • Prices compared. Your receipt items are matched to a catalog covering several Serbian chains, so you can see where each product is cheaper.
  • Answers, not spreadsheets. Ask in plain language and get an answer from your own data.

Finding your way around. On the web, everything is in the left sidebar. On the phone, the bar at the bottom has five destinations: Dashboard, Money, Shop, AI Analysis and More. Anything that isn't in that bar lives under More.

These guides run in order, and each one picks up where the last left off.

Work through this once and the app is set up properly.

  1. Set your display currency. Settings (web sidebar, or More → App → Settings on the phone). Every total is shown in this currency, whatever the transaction was in.
  2. Add an account. Accounts → new. One for each real bank account or card you follow.
  3. Import a statement. Export a PDF from your bank, then Statements → upload. It appears as Pending and fills itself in, so you don't have to wait.
  4. Scan a receipt. On the phone, Money → Receipts → scan, then point the camera at the QR code on a fiscal receipt.
  5. Check the categories. Transactions (or Money → Transactions). Fix anything filed wrongly, because the rules you set up later build on these.

If nothing appears after step 3, open the statement itself. It carries its own status, and the reason if parsing failed.

Receipts

A statement says you spent 4.320 RSD at a supermarket. The receipt says what you actually bought. Scanning gets you that second half.

  1. On the phone, open Money → Receipts.
  2. Start the scanner and point the camera at the QR code printed on a Serbian fiscal receipt (fiskalni račun).
  3. It saves at once and shows as Pending. Reading it means fetching the receipt from the tax portal and matching every line to the product catalog, so that runs in the background. Put your phone away.
  4. Come back and open the receipt to see the items.

Scanned receipts appear on the web too, under Receipts.

If it stays Pending, the tax portal is slow or briefly unreachable. Pull to refresh in a few minutes.

If the code won't read, wipe the camera lens and hold steady. A creased or faded receipt often needs flattening first. Receipts with no QR code, and handwritten ones, can't be read this way.

Prices & shopping

Dinarko tracks what several Serbian chains charge for the same products, weekly markdowns included. The chains are Lidl, IDEA, Maxi, Gomex and PerSu.

  1. Open Shop on the phone, or Catalog in the web sidebar.
  2. Shop opens on three modes. On sale is this week's markdowns, Aisles walks the catalog section by section, and Search is the search field.
  3. Get to a product and open it. You get every size it comes in, and for each size what each chain charges, cheapest first.
  4. Read the unit price per kilo or litre, beside the pack price. The bigger box isn't automatically the better deal, and this is the number that settles it.

The fastest way in is the barcode. The scanner sits inside the search field: switch Shop to Search, tap the scan icon in the field, and point the phone at anything in your kitchen. You land on that product with the size you scanned already selected. If the field has no scan icon, scanning is not switched on for your account.

If a barcode finds nothing, that product isn't in the catalog yet. The catalog covers groceries from the tracked chains, so imported specialities and non-food items are often absent.

Settings

These guides live under Help in the app, or More → App → Help on the phone. The main ones are readable before you sign in, so you can reach them even when you can't get in.

Your data is yours. We don't sell it, and there are no third-party advertising trackers. Your financial data is used to show you your finances, and nothing else.

Leaving is possible. Export your transactions in full as CSV or JSON whenever you like, so nothing you put in is trapped here.

That's the tour. Everything else is detail you can pick up as you go.

Most sign-in problems are one of a few things. Work down this list.

  1. "Invalid email or password." Check the email for a typo and that Caps Lock is off. If you signed up with an Apple or Google button, use that same button again rather than typing a password.
  2. Forgot your password? Tap Forgot your password? under the sign-in form and enter the email you signed up with. A link arrives that is valid for 30 minutes. Choose a new password there, then sign in with it. Setting it signs you out on every other device.
  3. No email arrived? Look in spam. If it says Too many attempts, wait a few minutes before asking again; asking repeatedly does not speed it up.
  4. On the phone, check the server. The sign-in screen has a server selector for people who run their own Dinarko server. If it points somewhere else, your account will not be found there. Switch it back to the default.

No account yet? Use Register under the sign-in button, or Try the demo to look around with sample data first. The demo account is temporary and deletes itself.

Still stuck? These guides work without signing in, so you can read the rest from here.
